Cross-Pollination Opportunity
—O-O—
Landscape designer and non-secateur blogger, Dustin Gimbel, hosted the latest version of his Cross-Pollination Garden Party in Long Beach recently. And, as usual, it was a lively event featuring delicious food and drink, stimulating conversation and the chance to catch up with talented folks from a variety of creative disciplines. This iteration I collaborated with Gimbel on the invitation for the party — his concept, my artwork — and when it was finished we agreed it was pretty awesome. So why not share? To that end I’ve applied the design to both tee-shirts (shown above on local chanteuse and model, Alexandra) and on prints (framed and unframed), both available now at my Society 6 shop. Click over to find links for both. Proceeds from all sales will go toward future Cross-Pollination events.
And you can catch Dustin at South Coast Plaza this weekend at the Arts & Leisure Show Garden, part of its Southern California Spring Garden Show. Find out more by clicking here, or by going to his Facebook page: click here.
Cross-Pollination 2015 artwork includes Michelangelo’s David kitted out in gardening gear, wielding a spade. Overhead, the sun alludes to that other cross-pollination process and is a honeycomb; friendly bees buzz while a list of creative occupations makes up the sun’s rays.

There’s nothing so handy as a well placed trowel… Hope we’ll see more of the event itself?
Agreed, the trowel has its place here for sure! Unlike past C-Ps, this one went un-shot that I can remember … Maybe next time!
I ordered a print. So glad you made them available. What fine collaborators you and Dustin make. I didn’t document this CP — too much to eat, too many people to visit with! Your fresh fruit galette was incredible, as usual.
I know, Denise, I brought my camera too but it never occurred to me to take one photo! I think I need to find a new go-to dessert; people love the galette but I don’t want to be predictable! Thanks for the sale.
You guys are all so awesome. I would love to see something like this in Austin.
It can be done, Pam! Do it once and it’ll quickly become an annual or biannual thing. 😉
