Justina Blakeney, self-described designer and maker, mover and shaker, blogger and stylist, Queen of the Jungalow, and zany and zaftig mom, is apparently all of those things and more. Don’t believe me? Just have a look at her blog (click here). I’ve only begun to discover everything she’s posted there, but the sheer scope of it has already boggled my mind and stirred my imagination. I became aware of Blakeney when I found she’d re-pinned some of the Rancho’s projects onto her Planties Pinterest page (click here). It was exciting to be included among the 700+ interesting and inspiring plant-based projects, photos, products there … Then, clicking to her Pinterest homepage, I discovered she’s posted tons of other boards devoted to everything to do with home, design, food, art and more. How Blakeney has the energy and time to be all that she clearly is, is beyond me. Whatever — she’s officially my new spirit animal.

In this post I share a few tasty visual examples from her Planties board — along with sources and why I was drawn to them. Please to enjoy …

I hate that I wasn’t aware of Blakeney until now; knowing about the new and cool is important to me. And with 1,239,572 Pinterest followers already, I’m woefully late to the party. Still, you can call me No. 1,239,573.

Love the big “leaf canopy”. We have them here in CR, and they call them the “poor man’s umbrella”. Blakeney has unusual ideas…I like them.

I love the “poor man’s” solution to the problem, Val … and I love Blakeney’s creativity and ideas, too, as you can tell!

I saw those Dustin and loved every one of them … I reluctantly added “on the spot floral arranger” to your already overflowing (and way too impressive) resumé! 😉
