She’s a Natural
It’s not close to being over yet, but I can already answer the question of what I did this summer: I tumblr‘d. As a semi-invalid and avoider of the energy-sapping high temperatures outside, I’ve spent many of my non-napping hours on tumblr blogs, lost among the endless pages of amazing images collected in them. In this post I share a scrapbook of favorite images; the common theme being that each depicts a woman and nature. Some are humorous like the smiling, look-but-don’t-touch, young lady above. Others are artistic, or strange; some fashionably improbable. Many are bizarre, mildly erotic — or all of the above. There are recognizable faces but most of the subjects are unknown; some are antique, some very now. Because all came from tumblr blogs (and were re-blogged from other tumblr blogs), attributions, titles and other identifying information is not offered; that information being unavailable. Notation beneath each image is my own. In tumblr tradition I offer the following standard disclaimer: I make no claim to any of these images; if you see one that belongs to you and would like it removed from this website, contact me in the comment area.

So glad you posted these wonderful images — I’ve been worried about you. Sounds like you’re having a summer like the lyrics from the old Motels song “Some summers never end…” but at least you have the tumblr diversion. Hope the back is slowly mending.
Hi, Denise, thanks for your concern … I appreciate it. It has been a bummer of a summer and although I’ve been working on projects around the Rancho, it’s been slow-going. A surgery date should arrive soon, and hopefully mending thereafter. Thanks for reading and commenting! 😉
These are splendid..And can that Siren Mother possibly be Glynnis Johns ?
Wow! Good eye … it is Miss Johns in a 1948 movie called, ‘Miranda’, a light comedy … the picture in the post is the final scene, where she holds a “merboy” on her lap. It also starred the amazingly named Googie Withers …
Here’s a short clip from ‘Miranda’: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yqd5MU5-2KU
Such lovelies. I recognize several but from where I’ve no idea. Glad that you’ve found a way to enertain yourself. Keep it up for I love to see what you’ve found.
Thanks, Vickie … There’re so many amazing sights on tumblr it’s hard for me to tear myself away sometimes!
I’ve never heard of this tumblr….will have to check it out… give me something to entertain myself, too. (See I can spell, it’s just that I don’t always spellcheck myself before sending. I’ve been having problems with the fingers going where I want them to again.)
Tumblr’s pretty amazing a diversion … and don’t worry about spelling, it can always be fixed! … 😉
Very uh, cool in this hot hot weather. Stay air-conditioned, and I hope your back gets better soon…
The heat: OMFG … and an earthquake last night, too! Too much natural phenomena!
