Afters

Wind felled detritus becomes designer decor in two projects from the Ideas Realized blog … and, I have to ask myself: Why didn’t I think of that?!

……….

Raw fronds

Reminiscent of my wall-mounted succulent planter project, at left, Ideas Realized blogger (and graphic artist), Rob Metke, used palm fronds as his raw material and inspiration. I love the results he achieved using what most people think of as yard waste and really not much else … The cocoon-like pendant light fixture required only a simple light kit to finish, and the rustic planter some leather cording he already had: Brilliant! Metke’s posted quite a few interesting projects that are big on style and design and will not break the bank. Check out his Ideas Realized; I’m sure you’ll be inspired as I was … I can think of a few of his projects I’d like to do riffs on here at the Rancho. What other pieces of art can you do with palm fronds?

There are several posts using palm fronds or scoops here; I would also try Pinterest, keywords palm fronds, for more. Thanks for commenting!
