Afters

Wind felled detritus becomes designer decor in two projects from the Ideas Realized blog … and, I have to ask myself: Why didn’t I think of that?!

……….

Raw fronds

Reminiscent of my wall-mounted succulent planter project, at left, Ideas Realized blogger (and graphic artist), Rob Metke, used palm fronds as his raw material and inspiration. I love the results he achieved using what most people think of as yard waste and really not much else … The cocoon-like pendant light fixture required only a simple light kit to finish, and the rustic planter some leather cording he already had: Brilliant! Metke’s posted quite a few interesting projects that are big on style and design and will not break the bank. Check out his Ideas Realized; I’m sure you’ll be inspired as I was … I can think of a few of his projects I’d like to do riffs on here at the Rancho. Click below for links to each of these palm frond projects and their how-tos:

What other pieces of art can you do with palm fronds?

There are several posts using palm fronds or scoops here; I would also try Pinterest, keywords palm fronds, for more. Thanks for commenting!
