Bazaar Finale: Wet As Hell!
The first-ever Rancho Reubidoux Garden Bazaar is now behind us … and it was a total success! Saturday was gloriously sunny and well-attended … with surprise appearances by friends old and new. Sunday, however, was a different story, at least weather-wise: It rained, and really hard. But, just when we were beginning to despair that we would have no shoppers and maybe we should pack it in, what do you know? They began coming by the carload, umbrella-equipped and ready to shop … and from such far-flung and exotic locations as Rancho Palos Verdes and Santa Ana!
Thanks go to everyone who came to the Bazaar, it was great to see each and every one of you … and, thanks for relieving me of more than a few carloads-worth of stuff! There’s still more that needs to go, but I can now see pockets of emptiness (which figures into a new idea I’m hoping to achieve at the Rancho) … more on that soon.
Big thanks go to Bonnie, Bruce, Vickie (who, sadly, couldn’t attend due to an injury), Tom, Jerry, Britney, and Paul, who made, brought, set-up and, in some way, helped move the merch. What’s left? A muscle relaxer for the back pain, and an early night, it’s back to work tomorrow.
sigh.
NOTES — Guida: we’ve got your Cirque du Soleil umbrella and will keep it safe until we can visit; Britney: your bag of lamp elements is here, we’ll make arrangements to get it to you; Enrique: Paul will bring you the two little urns with the man handles.
Is that all that you have left? If it is, you did good!
Ha! I wish that was all I had left… this was an attempt to move things out to draw people in when we thought we would be rained-out. There’s still tons to move … but I did do good!
Dear Reuben and Paul,
How very invigorating it was to meet you both in person and to experience the Rancho. I am thrilled to have a couple pieces from you. Thank you so much for a wonderful time and we hope to see you in Santa Ana. Our door is always open.
Guida
Thanks, Guida … I loved putting a face to one of my fave readers! We’ll see you and Danny again soon; to see your garden and return your umbrella. Reuben
Dang, I knew I shouldn’t have put it down, I was so entranced…..we look forward to your visit. Guida
🙂
I’m so glad Sunday didn’t get rained out. The Rancho puts on a great bazaar!
Thanks for coming, Denise… always happy to have you and MBM!
Just so incredibly sad that I couldn’t be there…
One of these days the planets will be in alignment, Loree …
We came from Huntington Beach on Saturday and had a beautiful morning of shopping and finding wonderful treasures for our gardens. I am so glad we found the Bazaar and all of our unique “jewels”.
Thank you !!
Thanks, Donna for coming in and for leaving such a great comment; wasn’t Saturday a beautiful day?
Wish I could have been with you…
So much rain sooo soon!
One of these days I might just appear & surprise you,
It’s on my bucket list ;~D
I would love that! Just email me before the surprise … ; )
Uggh had to work… but will do my best to make it next time… Annette at The Potted Store told me to watch for the date on your blog… Congrats on the success…
Dang it! … I was hoping I’d get you to trade that awesome planter of yours for something of mine, too!
now i am so unhappy that I didn’t buy all of the succulents that were planted in dust pans, fry pans ect. I bought 2 dust pans and a fry pan and the dipper, but I now I want more, I will send pictures,.
Hi, Johanna. Vickie, the creator of the awesome dustpan, etc., planters will make more and I’ll put you in touch! Please do send pictures, I’d love to see them, share them!
I want to thank you for all you did to help Tom since I couldn’t be there. Much to my dismay.
Thanks to all who got the pieces that they wanted. I know that they will enjoy them as much as I did while creating them.
As to Wednesday… She came.. she bought.. She ordered….
The arm is healing well and I’ll be back to it soon.
Miss Vickie! You have a great husband and it was my pleasure to give him a hand in your absence … I’m glad you did well and even sold pieces beyond the sale; that was my plan for you after all … Glad to hear the arm’s on the mend … talk to you soon!
So you had a plan for me did you? I thank you for your considerations in my regard. You are a very inspirational for me. I still find it a wonder as to how this is all coming about. I love it that what I do brings smiles to others. I find playing in the dirt fun and seeing what differnt combinations of plants and items are going to do for me. Have a few new ideas that I’m running thru my mind… if they come out how I see them they will be really cool….
Till we meet again….
Great! Yes, your work, Bonnie’s work, my own, they all need to be seen … and if they find an appreciative audience — and buyers! — all the better… keep me posted on what you come up and we’ll talk soon! Reuben
