News of the Bazaar
NOTE: The sale has been postponed; please click to see post here.
Faithful readers of this blog can now take away their own bit of Rancho style when they stop in at the first-ever RANCHO REUBIDOUX GARDEN BAZAAR! The sale will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 1st and 2nd, and will feature an array of handmade garden ornaments and succulents from local vendors, as well as good stuff from my own collection … using the key above, here’s the rundown on who, and what, will be available:
— a.—
Culled from my own collections, I’ll be offering rough’n’rusty goodness, including containers, artwork and even a couple of items created especially for the sale … See something you like that doesn’t have a price tag? Let’s talk! (Some exceptions apply; Paul, Frito and Inky stay.)
— b.—
Down-the-way neighbor, and fellow succulent aficionado, Bonnie Reynolds (click here), has gathered kitschy vintage ceramic containers and turned them into whimsical mini-gardens… but that’s not all: she’s also creating stacked colored glass ‘totems’! (Bonus: Master gardener husband, Bruce, is building birdhouses.)
— c.—
Recent local find, Vickie Perez, will be offering an assortment of her trademark rusted (and rustic) succulent container gardens … She’s been on the hunt for unusual containers ever since I asked her to participate in the sale, and if I know her, she’s come up with some clever — and amazing — goodies! (Click here for memory refreshment)
— d.—
Lastly, but no less importantly, local succulent propagator/dealer, Mike Dignan, will be supplying a truckload of amazing specimens, picked just for the Rancho’s Bazaar. You can look forward to terrific juicy leaf examples to go with your new pots and containers … Need more? He’s at the downtown Riverside Farmer’s Market every Saturday, check him out!
As garden brujo-in-charge, I’m looking ahead to two days of spirited Rancho fun, shopping and visiting … I hope to see you and your friends! I’ll post reminders as the days draw closer but mark your calendars now … Here’re the particulars:
Tempted to book a flight now …
A free chihuahua for all our Canadian friends! 😉
cool hat
Ha! It’s my garden brujo agave crown …
Cicquero blog looks awesome, can’t wait to explore there…
Looking forward to finding great ideas for all my “stuff” and adding to my “stuff” and meeting the brujo-in-charge!
Great, Kim, see you then!
You’ll be taking this on the road soon right? Maybe to Portland for our spring hardy plant society sale? Or maybe at least selling the agave crowns on etsy?
Hardy plant society? Now why didn’t I think of that, or an agave crown etsy store? If only I had the time for all these pursuits. I gotta get me an assistant …
I’m bummed I’ll be out of town that weekend! I really wanted to see Paul again (& you!) and check out the glorious space you call home. Too bad for me!
Oh, Shraddha, what far-flung locale are you off to?
Ah! Too far, no money!
My life is a tragedy, I tell you. A tragedy!
May you have a fantastic day filled with great folks!
Thanks, Jenn, sorry you can’t make it! It won’t be as great without you but we’ll soldier on …
Marking the calendar, counting the days…
Me too, Denise … and there aren’t that many!
Looking forward to the sale!! Good to know the date. Now I need to get myself into some sort of overdrive and get some things done! Maybe in the next month I can come up with the stuff needed for some possible ideas that are flitting around this mind of mine.
You can do it, Vickie! Can’t wait to see what you come up with…
Another one looking forward to the sale. I’m glad you’re not having it until October, hopefully I can save up and do some serious damage!
I’m glad I’m not having it until October because I’ve been so lazy this summer … Overdrive begins now.
Oh, come on… you have at least another month of lazy coming to you. This is what summer is for, isn’t it?
Right, loafing begins NOW!
So the bewitching secret is out.(last post) I am making plans to return to the rancho, having already visited during the garden tour, for the gathering of succulent and garden art offerings. My thanks for having such a great blog. Mr. Haney
Hello and thanks for commenting … I’m looking forward to seeing old and new friends at the sale… it should be rusty, succulent fun!
