Rain Plan
Weather reports said it would rain this weekend, and it has come to pass: it’s been raining all day. I went for a 5:30 walk this morning and it was sprinkling … by the time I’d picked up my Coffee Bean red-eye at 7:00, it was raining steadily … and it really hasn’t let up all day. Gardening being out of the question, my weekend project involves Martha and me turning up the heat and making sweet love …
… what I mean is I’m making gifts for family and friends from Martha Stewart’s annual cookie magazine supplement. Since it appeared about a month ago, I’ve been waiting for the perfect weekend to preheat the oven and this is it. I’m making three of the more interesting types; they are: Indian-Spiced Cashew-Lime cookies, Smoky Bacon-Ginger cookies and Honey-Walnut coins. Why am I telling you this? Because, if I send this plan out into the blogosphere I can’t back out of it and watch forensic/reality TV all day instead. I’ve already finished recipe no. 1, and it’s deliciously exotic … so, I’m on to recipe 2. I’ll do the third tomorrow, and post pictures of all three … Now, if only Paul and I could stop sampling them!
The Rancho looks clean and dusted in it’s rain suit ! It has been raining all day here in Napa too, but I was not nearly as productive – in fact I have no idea what I did today, though I did have the vacuum out for a spell.
I love rain, not least for making everything look so spiffy!
Your garden looks so gorgeous it makes me ache to be a Californian. Can’t wait to hear how the Smoky Bacon-Ginger cookies turn out…
The bacon’s rendering down right now … too bad I can’t eat any! ; (
I love the tree Aloe. Sodden is good.
I do love sodden, myself… especially love walking and being outdoors before, during and after a good rain!
