RR Studio Sale — Updated
Because the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem (See ‘Hoarders’, any episode), I’m having a sale this Saturday. The purpose of the sale is to divest myself of enough stuff that I will actually be able to use our two-car garage space as an art studio. We had planned to have the space free of clutter by now but somehow it’s still loaded with stuff … and what stuff it is: paintings of mine, paintings by unknowns purchased at flea markets, assorted art pieces and small furniture items, pots (some with plants, some empty), miscellaneous art books and magazines; plus: the random, the unwanted, the un-usable and the bizarre. Come by, if you’ve ever had the need for a 3-D portrait of a white fluffy dog, a terra-cotta pot shaped like a fish, or a very-gently used leather mask (calm down, it was a one-time Halloween deal). My original paintings will be going for a song. The stuff’s gotta go, people! Here’re the particulars:
Rancho Reubidoux Studio Sale: 4380 Isabella St., Riverside CA 92501.
Saturday, November 13th, 8am until I can’t take it anymore.
Absolutely no one admitted until 8am; I’ll need every minute for setting up the stuff.
The sale is actually being held at the rear of the property, outside the garages; There is NO street parking except in front of the house on Isabella St., please park there to avoid traffic pileups and citations.
AS REQUESTED: Here are photos of paintings that are still unsold and will be available at the studio sale, along with other originals of mine. If you’re interested in any of them leave me a comment and I will provide you with more info. Note: The leaf-masked girl is actually available only as a giclée print, but the others are the original works on canvas. Thanks!
Wow, I don’t suppose plane fare would be affordable at this point!
If you stowed away you’d still have enough money to shop, Dave! C’mon down…
Damn! Why do you have to live so far away?
I really think you should consider snapping a few photos before you let the shopping masses in at 8am. You know, just to torture us with…
Photos? You know I will, and I shudder to think that masses might actually show up!
If I possibly can, barring catastrophe, I’ll be there! It’s like skipping the LB Veteran’s flea mkt for years and getting a second chance at it.
EEek… I hope the stuff can live up the hype! See you then, Denise
Perhaps the photos could serve as an online preview sale for some of your loyal readers. Particularly of the Reubenski originals… Hmmmm???
Well, that’s a fine idea, NRB… I’ll post some pics and if you see something you like, email me and I’ll hold it for you. Will put pics up of the paintings that will be on the block…
Yes! Please post photos! I just might wander by! Is it okay if I bring my dog? I promise she’ll be good.
Hi, MM… yes, please stop by and bring her highness … my runaways will be in lock-down anyway, so it’ll be okay.
Seriously? It’s sooooo tempting to drive down, but we’re planning a trip down south the week of Christmas. Matti’s been consulting our book called “Weird California”, but I’m sure we’ll be emailing you for some must see places. Would love to see your garden too 🙂
Sorry you won’t make the impromptu sale but I’d love to contribute to your book — thanks!
I really like the one with the girl with the hair– how large is it, and how much are you looking to get for it?
Hi, that painting is called ‘Africa Electrica’ and is a diptych, approximately 2 ft. wide, by 4 ft. tall. Acrylic, and $300. The color is richer in ‘real life’ and I’m really proud of it. I feel like I need to let all these pieces go, however, if I’m ever going to create any new pieces, so … Thanks for asking about it! Will I see you tomorrow?
Magic 8-Ball says, “You may rely on it.”
; ) ~ so, to bed… have to get up early for set-up… see you later!
