Fall Tones
The first day of Fall was last month (the 22nd, to be exact) but I hadn’t really had a full-on Fall feeling until this morning — the sunlight had that crisp, golden tone about it that means Halloween will be treating us to its tricks soon. To celebrate the season of candy corn and pumpkin spice, I arranged this little corner tableau …
A skull-based self-portrait along with a small work on panel, anchors the autumnal color story in tones of orange and sunflower. Dark wood furniture pieces in the form of a whimsical long-stemmed flower chair and an angular rotating tray table, anchor the floor space. The tabletop features an earthenware vase decorated with a spiral, a curvy ceramic vessel sporting a sprig of apricot-colored bougainvillea, and a funny little stone owl, to complete the picture. I think this vignette says Fall-aplenty — and I didn’t have to resort to pumpkins and maple leaves.
That is one great chair !
It’s funny and cool and silly… and I love it
