Plant Sale Excitement

March 25, 2010

___________________________________________________________________________

At the risk of losing the good stuff to the competition, I’m announcing two major local plant sales. And, both are this weekend! The first is Buck and Yvonne Hemenway’s 10th annual Prickly Palace’s Open Garden, at their  home. The Hemenway’s garden is an example of drought tolerant landscaping that verges on psychedelic with it’s amazingly diverse array of colorful plantings. It’s truly a must see! They’re offering expert advice on drought tolerant landscaping, along with plants from their nursery. Also, the UCR Botanic Gardens Spring Plant Sale takes place on the university’s grounds. If you’ve never been, it’s a terrific way to see tons of interesting plants (succulents and otherwise), meet other plant lovers and experts and help support a great public garden while enjoying some great deals! Check the jump for further details and clickable links. See you there!

Looks cool. There are always great deals and hard to find plants at those types of sales. Can I say, envious I am . Matti

The Hemenway’s garden is insane… I’ll be posting about it but I’m not sure the pictures will capture the phantasmagoric gorgeousness… is it weird to love plants so much?!
